I really wanted to like this thing. The design is superb. The execution? Not so much. The blade is perpendicular to the path of the food, and is approximately as sharp as a butter knife. Had I opted to sharpen it, I might have been satisfied. However, after what I paid for it, I expected it to work properly out of the box.
I expected better from Oxo. I returned this mandoline, and replaced it with a Zyliss v-slicer that works fine.
