I know this is an old post, but I just want to point out something before parents run out and get these things for thier students.
Most dorms do not allow you to have anything that gets hot in the room. The hot water pot might be acceptible, but as far as my school goes, anything other then a microwave was pretty much off limits. No toasters, no hotplates, certainly no indoor grills. So check with you son or daughter's school before buying these things.
