Cuisinart CEC-7 Egg Cooker

I have a Toastmaster brand electric egg cooker and I love it. I gave my brother-in-law the Krups one for Christmas and he loves it. These are great appliances.

This unit is good except fot the following reasons. No handle for the bottom part. Only three poached eggs. Seperate measuring cup and hole puncher. A flimsy egg holder.

I have had this egg cooker for about two years and love it. So often gadgets seem clever but don't stand the test of time. This is truly a useful appliance and I use it every week.

It's small enough to stash in a cabinet when not in use. I don't find the lack of handle for the lower part and issue at all, nor is the egg holder flimsy.

It's easy to use and the eggs are perfectly cooked every time. One thing though, it does not have an auto shut-off (unless it's been updated). It has a beeper that tells you the eggs are done, but you must turn the unit off.

As for the egg piercer. It's recommended to pierce a hole in each egg to supposedly avoid cracking. I did that in the beginning, but don't bother now. It seemed there was a higher incidence of cracking with the hole than without. Rarely do I find an egg has cracked while cooking.
