Review: Kuhn Rikon Ratchet Safety LidLifter

We've been using the Kuhn Rikon Ratchet Safety LidLifter over the past few weeks, and have found it to be much better than our old can opener. The big difference is the lid that is cut from the can isn't sharp, and the handle is much easier to hold. We also like how the majority is made of composite plastic, making it easier to clean.
Features
- Safely cuts the outside rim of can, not the top
- leaves no sharp edges
- you never have to touch the lid
- ingenious design does the twisting for you!

OK, so you've eliminated the sharp lid, but now the top of the can is sharp.
Before, you could drop the sharp lid in the not-sharp can, pinch the can shut and the can would keep the lid from cutting anything.
Now, putting the lid in the can still leaves the sharp top of the can out there to cut things, and the lid is bigger, anyway, so it probably doesn't even fit in the can.
How is that better?
