KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer In Licorice

We know what you're going to say, "Hey - everyone has one of these mixers. If you got married in the last 10 years you might even have two." We know, but we love the fact this one is in licorice. It's the little things in the world of kitchen gadgets that make you take notice, and simply calling this mixer's color licorice got ours. The KitchenAid 600 features all the usual stuff. A 10-speed stand mixer with all-metal construction and powerful 575-watt motor, a 6-quart stainless-steel mixing bowl; direct-drive transmission with all-steel gears, and an electronic speed sensor. This one even has auto shut-off motor protection. You also get all the usual trimmings: wire whip, burnished flat beater, spiral dough hook, and a pouring shield.

Yes, my wife's 600 has the exact same problem. The part that the beater connects to (with a gear in it) falls off.

I recieved one of these for my Chrsitmas present and I am experiencing a problem. The shaft and housing has come loose. The motor sound fine but the bowl is getting beat up. It won't stay on. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
