Review: Emson Electric 5Qt Smoker- The Only Indoor Pressure Smoker
Emson was sent us their Emson Electric 5Qt Indoor Pressure Smoker, and we have to say right up front we're impressed. The indoor pressure cooker smoker can cook up to 4-pounds of food at once, and even cold smoke cheeses. For us in the Northeast outdoor smoking ends in October, and indoor smoking? Well we would have never thought such a thing existed until now. And now with the Emson indoor smoker we think our long winter ahead looks smoky and bright.
You see the Emson Electric 5Qt Indoor Pressure Smoker is safe for indoor use, and cooking times are reduced by 50-percent. Pressure cooking also is a perfect match for smoking as the results are moist, juicy, and smoky. We used apple chips for the 12 pieces of chicken - 6 thighs and 6 legs in 35 minutes. Also people have asked - is this going to produce a ton of smoke in our house. Our answer - no. We didn't have any noticeable amount of smoke except smoky cooking smell which we love.
In a nut shell here's the steps to use the smoker:
- The smoker comes with various recipes we picked the pieces of chicken
- Prep the chicken by rubbing with spices
- Put the insert into the smoker and add the smoker box to the heating element
- Put about 1/2 cup of water for steaming
- Place the racks into the smoker
- Fill with chicken
- Put on the lid and make sure it's secure
- Set timer for 30-35 minutes
- When done release the pressure
- Eat amazing smoked chicken
The smoker box contains the chips you want.
Place chicken in racks
The smoker is almost done.
Pull the steam plug and let some off.
Sure we cooked up some other items but here's our
chicken thighs - yummy. How yummy?

Clean up is also a breeze. Let the unit cool and then
we let it soak a bit with some dish soap. It cleaned up
in just a few minutes.
So in the end how do we feel about the Emson Electric 5Qt Indoor Pressure Smoker? Well besides impressed we feel like we have an exciting smoked cheese, salmon, oyster stuffing, and other smoky food future. We can't wait to try other recipes and on tap soon - some brisket me thinks. Thanks again to Emson for sending.
