Senseo $20 Rebate for Holiday Gift Giving

Coffeemachine-1
Picture 1-1If you really want to buy a Senseo for your loved one (and we suggest we do) - Phillips is offering a $20 dollar rebate on their $70 dollar machine - roughly making it $50 or less at most online stores. In our opinion - that's a total steal.

Imagine Christmas morning, you come down to the Christmas tree - and someone you love (and live with) gets a Senseo. Next for breakfast you will then get the most perfect cup of coffee ever. Do it. Buy the Senseo. You will not be sorry. OH! Imagine Senseo Single Serve Coffee with your New Years hangover....oooh!

2004 11 29 Bowls
Wow. And they nest! I have 2 sets of these in our kitchen and love them - as does Apartment Therapy.

"Mix it up. These are old favorites of our, having grown up with them, but we had completely forgotten about them until Tom jogged our memory."

Turkey Contraptions & Gadgets for Thanksgiving!

Superdebeaker
Here's the ultimate gift for that live turkey owner! DEBEAKER!!!

"My girlfriend is a vegetarian, so I'm accustomed to receiving stern lectures whenever I tear into a drumstick. But coming face-to-face with the Super Debeaker, albeit in JPEG form, gave me pause. You can be sure that, before I tuck into that luscious bird tomorrow night, I'll give a moment's thought to what his time on Earth must've been like. None-too-pleasant, I'll wager, given that his beak was likely snipped off at a young age."

The Original Chestnutter!!! Chestnuts HO!!!!!

Chestnutter-1
I can agree completely with this guy from Gizmodo. Chestnut scoring, preparation, whatever you call it is indeed DANGEROUS. Watch your fingers, your arteries, you name it - you will be hurt one time or another. Luckily this little contraption can help you in the kitchen over the next 2 holidays AT LEAST!

"There's an age-old media tradition called "holiday pegging," which is nowhere as dirty as it sounds. All it means is that, come every Fourth of July, your local newspaper is bound to run some heartwarming tale about a war widow who knits American flags from dental floss. Or the week leading up to Christmas, there's always a zillion stories about what happens to kid's letters to Santa. You get the idea. In that cloying spirit, Gizmodo's going whole hog with this Thanksgiving thing, and brining you the very best in gadgetry meant to enhance the feast.

We'll start with Jasco Inc.'s Chestnutter--again, not as dirty as it sounds. This patented contraption scores chestnuts for roasting, with (supposedly) minimal bodily harm as comared to traditional paring knives. I think the Jasco pitch puts it best: "No more dreading the chore of preparing chestnuts." Yep, chestnut preparation has always been my greatest fear. Obviously."

It's Kitchen Gadget Friday!!!

Usb Mincepie
Okay - so maybe it's not totally a "kitchen gadget" but it sure would be cool to have a nice slice of pie while you transfer your recipes to MacGourmet. This little USB drive is very groovy and I bet it even smells nice.

"Despite my dapper sense of dress and my long, personal history of colonial wars for empire, I am not British. That leaves me with only the vaguest sense of cultural relevance when it comes to the significance of the Christmas Mince Pie. Perhaps it is like our mythic Fruit Cake, often spoken of in jocular but wary tones, yet rarely spotted outside its rusting tin? Or our Santa Claus, the fecund ur-Fairy whose sinister, candy cane pipeworks splattered forth an army of gayly-clad drone elves to populate our children's stockings with an eye-glazing array of corporate-branded entertainment modules? I do not know."

Contemporary bamboo home accessories

Wow. I just found the land and living site and now they have this amazing bamboo cutting board post - nice stuff and it will be even nicer in the kitchen.

"Lately, it seems as if bamboo products are popping up everywhere and obviously for good reasons: It's a fantastic material to work with and it replenishes itself in half the time as other wood. On that note, Ekobo has an entire product line crafted from bamboo. Trays, bowls, and stools to name just a few."

Ikea Free Standing Kitchen

As my friend Mike said, "This is truly the ultimate kitchen contraption. Isn't it?"

"If you are looking for a mini kitchen, go to (none other than) Ikea. They have a $900 unit that combines cabinet, small fridge (hidden behind cabinet doors), a two burners sealed cooktop, stainless countertop and sink, and faucet. A bargain at that price, and available in Seattle Ikea at least, if not nationwide."

A Butcher Block Like No Other

I have a butcher block that was in my grand parents house, and I miss just having the thing out. Our current kitchen has a big island with rollouts, and if we didn't have it - having a central workspace like this is critical.

"Block hard. We realize we are going way upscale with this one, but we saw this last week at a friend's house, used it and liked it more than any other (except for Ikea's - solely on price)."

Gas Powered Blender

I'm not sure how "useful" in the kitchen this is...but...it's impressive. Most impressive.

"You might have noticed that The Daiquiri Whacker cost much less than any other gas powered blender on the market. The Daiquiri Whacker was engineered from the start to be mass produced. This helps to minimize assembly labor and parts costs. The blender comes to you fully assembled, ready to go"

Pink Fondue Set Anyone?

Sooooo cute!!!

"When we heard that Girls Stuff had a pink chocolate fondue set on its new arrivals list we were dubious to say the least. Surely it was taking the whole "let's colour it pink and then girls will buy it!!" ethos that little bit too far. But now the pictures are in, we're thinking it looks quite nice. So turns out it we really are that easy to please. Darn it. Available to pre-order now for £14.95."

ThermoWorks Thermapen Review from The MacGourmet

thermapen.jpg

"I think all cooks want to believe that they can just sense when what they are cooking is done to perfection. Some people can, and some people just get lucky. I've found that personally, my results often improve greatly if I know the precise internal temperature of what I'm cooking."

Home Café Coming Soon in Red!!!

Wow. It's been Home Café news as of late, but you have to hand it to P&G, Black&Decker, and Mr. Coffee-they are pulling out all the stops to make Home Café a success. Currently they have the biggest variety of pod flavors for coffee, and now they are launching a red Home Café! We can't wait to get our eyes on this machine and it's nice to know that like the red Melitta we reviewed earlier & the red Senseo in Europe, maybe all the single serve coffee machines will come in red someday!

Canpull from boahousewares.com

boa_cantop.jpgI agree. I always fear these types of cans. I think this gadget would really solve it.

"Ring pull can opener. I always open these cans with trepidation, afraid to snap off the ring and then start the futile search for the pliers. Boa Housewares has created an opener for pull cans (not soft drink cans) that slips under the ring and then pulls back the entire top. Simple, brilliant. Boa's claim to fame is actually Clam Knife Blocks. See more in the extended post."

Black & Decker Infuze Vacuum Brew Coffeemaker Review from MacGourmet.com

infuze.jpg

"When I reviewed the Senseo single serve coffeemaker, I mentioned the Black & Decker Infuze. Now I love coffee. I'm not addicted to it, I can live without it, but it's one of my favorite things, much like chocolate is. At some point, I realized that the automatic drip I was using just wasn't cutting it. "There had to be a better way to make coffee," I thought. Turns out there was."

Voice Controlled Blender

I'm pretty sure I need a voice controlled Blender. Actually - I KNOW I NEED ONE.

"Being a complete disaster in the kitchen, it's a real pleasure to me to read that other girls have thought about "interesting" ways to use their household appliances.

Blendie, is a voice controlled 1950's Osterizer blender which has been altered, by design engineer Kelly Dobson, with custom made hardware and software for sound analysis and motor control."

Actyes Stainless Steel System

actyes_kitchen_oct_04.jpgI'm currently in the process of renovating the kitchen in our New/Old house...I dare to dream.

"Japanese stainless steel kitchen system. Actyes is a sleek modular kitchen system that one would expect from Italy's finest kitchen design companies yet it's made by Japan's Sunwave Co.. The myriad efficient details belie it's Japanese origins, it appears large but it's compact. Every square inch is used to maximize available space.

B00004R93S.01._PE65_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpgI had this bread machine in college. I loved it. Somehow when we moved - I lost it. It's nice to know that it at least comes with a video now. That would have helped alot. However - why do they call it "Breadman" - is there a little man making bread inside?
