Panasonic SR-G06FG 3.3-Cup Rice Cooker/Steamer

41VDKe5ZQML._SL500_AA280_.jpg

This looks like a good simple steamer/rice cooker. It shuts itself off when the cooking is done and and has stay-cool handles. In addition, the steamer's pan is non-stick to prevent rice from sticking.

We are about to go on vacation and eat a lot of lobster, but our butter will not be served in such a cute dish. This butter server allows you to keep the butter warm by filling the cup with hot water and then adding melted butter to the dish on top.

Mobile Microwave - Take Your Kitchen on the Road

mobilemicrowave-1.jpg

The entire road trip experience is getting better and better with more kitchen contraptions that you can take with you in your car. This mobile microwave has an led screen, is made of steel, and can be powered using just your 12 volt cigarette lighter or even by directly hooking it up to your battery. However the 12 volt method however doesn't yield great microwave times - it's going to take 6 minutes to make water boil. But if you do have a long drive or road trip - what's 6 minutes?

Scanpan Professional Nonstick Saucepans

595959v1.jpg

These nonstick saucepans are environmentally safe. The pans are certified PFOA free, so if you are worried about chemicals in your cookware, but still want nonstick, these may be the answer. Unlike other nonstick pans, these pans are also safe for metal utensils and allow for browning, searing, and deglazing. Instead of using PFOA, the nonstick surface is created by firing a ceramic-titanium compound into the pan.

Oster 6297 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven - Save on Electricity

51vaQVUqmCL._AA280_.jpg

We've been using our toaster oven a lot more since the whole energy crisis has been heating up. We thought this 6-slice toaster oven with convection technology for faster cooking that has 2 rack positions looks like a good oven if you don't have one already. The 150- to 450-degree F thermostat should be able to dial up the correct temperature for whatever you want to cook, and the 60-minute timer with auto shut-off makes it almost like your big oven with a kitchen timer.

We believe we've saved just north of $43 bucks last month by cooking more with smaller appliances, and even if the savings are less - they're still savings.

Grill Charms - Mark Your Meat

MRRcloseupandyellowpepper.jpg

We received a set of Grill Charms recently, and have to say at our last cookout they came in handy. Grill Charms are similar in concept to the wine charm. These dime-sized solid stainless steel charms are placed in your food before grilling. The stems are serrated to hold securely while grilling, moving and flipping. Grill Charm your food prior to cooking to distinguish spices and flavors, steak temperatures, or to avoid health or allergy issues.

The big reason we need them is food allergies. We have two soy allergic people in our standard grill crew, and were able to mark meat that was just seasoned, and not marinated. We think these little charms can save you time as well on that one person who just has to have that burger or steak overcooked. We used one to mark a burger that needed that extra long time.

  • Serrated to stay in securely while grilling, flipping and moving
  • Made of high quality heat conducting stainless steel
  • Food cooks evenly around charm
  • Stress free grilling for grill master and guests
  • Works with Burgers, Chicken, Steak, Pork, Fish and more!

Pizza Scissors - Make Pizza Slices with Ease

pizza_scissors.jpg

We love making pizza, but often have terrible results when cutting up the slices. Sure you can use a standard rolling cutter, but it must be sharp, and you often make marks and scrapes all over the pizza pan or stone. For $20 bucks you can solve the problem with these very cool pizza scissors. The scissors have a slice built right in to measure each one as you cut.

Boiling Point - Kettle of the Future

BoilingPoint.jpg

Electric kettles are actually very efficent at heating water, but most kettles are overfilled which wastes a huge amount of energy each year. So in these greener times, we're really excited about this new electric kettle concept. The Boiling Point kettle uses 30% less power, has more flavor in each cup of tea due to no re-boiling of the water which would reduce oxygen levels, and is much smaller than other kettles. We've got a full set of details and video after the jump.
