We love some steamed edamame and a little salt, and had no idea we could grown are own. The kit comes with cute "beer glass" vase, seeds, growing medium, and wicker basket. All you need is water and a sunny window, and soon you'll be harvesting your own healthy treat. Instructions included. Made in Japan.
Rotate your waffles for even browning. This rotating waffle iron has electronic browning control with a "crisp" function. You can also remove the waffle plates and replace with grill plates, so you can make sandwiches and paninis in it as well.
Called "Coral," this concept pot is coated in thermochromic spots, highlighting sectors in the pale blue design with fiery orange and red as the pot heats. I'm not sure I even need to know when pot gets hot, but I think the transformation of the pot would make cooking more fun and maybe a little different each time you used the pot. I do like the latch on handle design so you can position it on the pot anywhere you want to. I wonder what these babies would do in the dishwasher? Maybe that's the best use - telling you when the pots were cool enough to move with your hands or remove from the dishwasher.
This grater is also a storage device. The grater has a clear base with volume markings. It comes with three grater surfaces--fine, medium, and parmesan. It also has a clear lid for storage. It holds up to two cups.
This puts a modern spin on the old honey jar. The sleek jar includes a honey spoon made out of silicone, so the honey won't stick to the spoon, making it easy to drizzle over food or in your tea.
We typically don't feature food to buy here at Kitchen Contraptions, but when we saw the D’Artagnan Certified-Organic Free-Range Turkey we had to feature it. D’Artagnan certified farm-raised birds are fed an all-vegetarian diet of 100% whole organic grains and pure spring water, with no protein supplements, added poultry or fish by-products, pesticides or herbicides, which for us is important - we like our meat real not unreal.
In addition, no antibiotics, growth hormones or arsenicals are administered and the birds benefit from an environment that never uses artificial light. Adherence to these principles led to Organic Certification in 1990 by the Northeast Organic Farmer’s Association. The result is an amazingly tender and moist turkey with superb flavor and 25% less fat than standard, commercially raised turkeys.
Order deadline for Thanksgiving delivery is November 18.
I had a cookbook holder, but I stopped using it because it was very unwieldy. I really like this idea. The holder attaches under the kitchen cabinet and swings out when needed. The front ledge holds the pages back and also is magnetic, so you can attach other recipes to it. When you are done, the cookbook holder folds back under the cabinet.
Logitech Squeezebox Radio - The Ultimate Kitchen Radio
We pre-ordered the Squeezebox Radio over two months ago, and we've now had it for about 3-4 weeks., and in that time the Squeezebox Radio has delivered the best kitchen experience we've ever had. Besides being able to stream all of our iTunes music from our Mac-Mini server, it also has the ability to stream any internet radio station (including NPR and Groove Salad two of our favorites). It's also very portable, so next Summer we're going to get the battery pack and then be able to bring it onto the deck for some grilling and tunage. It also integrates with Amazon, Flickr, Facebook, and other social media apps so you can share your Squeezebox experience.
We're on the hunt for a good coffee grinder that we can use in the test kitchen, and this sturdy and durable coffee grinder features a stainless-steel bowl and blades. It's also got enough grinding power to grind up 2-1/2-ounces of our favorite coffee which is enough for 12 cups of coffee. It's got easy-to-read measurement markings on the lid, and stores comfortably on counter or in cabinet with a stowaway cord. We also like the shape of this grinder, with an easy to hold shape.
We love the 100% touch-free sensor operation built into this 13 gallon trashcan. You can even have battery-free operation with an optional AC Adaptor, and the trashcan fits any 13 or 18 gallon trash bags. The lid opens instantly when hand or trash is within 5 inches of its sensor (let's hope it doesn't randomly open when you walk by). This SX model has a new lid opening design for more capacity in less space.
We're more of a single serve coffee maker family here at Kitchen Contraptions, but we also do take out the bigger coffee maker when we want to make a full pot of something special, and take it with us. This 24-hour fully programmable coffeemaker with 12-cup capacity from Cuisinart fits the bill. It features a double-wall insulated thermal carafe, and built-in automatic burr grinder. The strength selector and grind control fine-tune intensity in the coffee you brew along with the volume. And a must have - a brew-pause function so you can catch a cup before brewing the entire pot.
Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? Nah. Forget cookie cutters. How about a Christmas cookie pan instead? You press the cookie dough into the pan and bake. The pan has fun seasonal shapes and is nonstick, so the cookies will come out easily.
This is a great idea. This scrap trap hangs over the edge of a drawer or cabinet door, so you have a place to put food scraps. It holds up to two quarts of scraps. It comes with a scraper to sweep the scraps up.
