B000Hwpkag.01. Aa280 Sclzzzzzzz V41406058

B000Hwpkag.01.Pt05. Aa280 Sclzzzzzzz V41406058 Looks like Senseo has a new single serve coffee maker coming out on October 1st - the new Senseo Supreme Single Serve Coffee Machine in Metallic Chrome. Besides the obvious exterior change of chrome plating, the Senseo Supreme features adjustable cup size for 3oz., 4 oz., 5 oz. cup and 6oz., 8 oz., 10 oz. mugs of coffee. We've been waiting for this feature for quite awhile, as we've enjoyed it on our Bunn My Cafe for over a year.

The package also includes a bonus 68 gourmet coffee pods, plus coupons for 10 free cappuccino pods and 20 free tea pods. There is even a Free tea-pod holder included. It still looks like you will still have some trouble getting a travel mug under the Senseo spout, but the adjustable spout allows for use of your favorite coffee cup, from small cup to a mug. And fjaybrewernet4-20inally, the best feature - a "33% Larger Water Reservoir (32 oz.) - dishwasher Safe. Woot!

Preva xSport Portable Espresso Maker

Carbon1

You might not use this in your kitchen, but you may need it for your weekend trips this summer. Portable espresso or making coffee of any type on the go seems to be coming of age. We've seen the Aeropress, in-car espresso makers, and now the Preva xSport Portable Espresso maker for camping, rv-ing, and backpacking.

This ultra-compact espresso maker will make espresso on the go and is very light and durable. Preva has a pretty exhaustive FAQ for any question you might have about the xSport Portable Espresso maker. We could see this being a pretty good choice for a long weekend hike or perhaps making a double shot cafe Americano on the side of a mountain.

Best Thermal Coffee Maker

73027.jpg

If you aren't going to get a single serve coffee machine, then a thermal coffee maker is the way to go. Hammacher Schlemmer has rated this machine the best for the taste of coffee, ease of use, and carafe heat retention.

During the heat test, this model maintained over 90% of its peak temperature four hours after brewing. Ten cups of coffee can be brewed in six minutes, and a stop and serve feature allows the carafe to be removed to pour a cup during brewing without dripping. The stainless steel carafe has a wide 3 mouth for easy cleaning and keeps brewed coffee hot for hours without cooking the liquid as is common with many hot-plate coffee makers, thereby preserving the brews original fresh taste, with panelists commenting on the nice balance and smooth aroma and taste. It has a 24-h our programmable clock/timer and a 36" cord that conveniently stores away underneath the unit. Uses #2 or #4 cone-shaped filters. 15 1/2 H x 8 3/4 W x 10 1/2 D. (5 lbs.)

Jura-Capresso Impressa S9 Automatic Coffee Center

B0009Qw7La.01-A1Ndbs7Ygopbd6. Sclzzzzzzz

Truly a kitchen contraption if we ever saw one, the Jura-Capresso S9 is in a class of its own. It will grind, tamp, brew and clean in under 60 second with a push of a button. We've had the pleasure and we do mean pleasure of using one of these machines to review last year and it was astounding how good the coffee could be.

With its 96-ounce capacity, two stainless steel lined thermoblock heating systems, a traditional frother and the automatic frothXpress Plus system it produces coffees, espressos and unlimited amounts of hot frothed and steamed milk for cappuccinos and lattes with no down time.

A separate hot water spout for tea, a separate ground coffee funnel and a stainless steel warming tray on top make this a complete hot beverage center.

Rowenta Morrison All in One Coffee Maker

Rowecg-80 Lg

The Morrison all in one coffee maker in a design we really like. It looks like you're putting the coffee into some giant sugar cube and surely good coffee will result. We like the stainless steel with the stark white and charcoal grey elements. We've never seen a Rowenta coffee maker in person, but we're going to see one out this weekend just to see it in person. Amazing.

Thermal Brew Coffee Maker

P0003970B We've seen this in the Black & Decker VB100 Vacuum Brew but we have yet to try this with a more classic vacuum brewer. It's interesting to note the process of making coffee this way has been a fixture in Japanese and Scandinavian homes for over 40 years.

"Upside-down" vacuum brewing separates coffee from grounds for clean, exquisite taste. The coffee maker works like this: water is held in the lower portion of the coffee pot and the coffee grounds are placed in the upper pot. When the water begins to boil, the vacuum process causes it to rise up through the tube to mix with the coffee grounds. The newly brewed coffee runs back down to the lower pot ready-to-serve, while the grounds stay in the upper pot. Makes 5 cups.

simplehuman Single Cup Coffee Pod Brewer

P-Coffee-Pod-Brewer-1 simplehuman has just announced their new single serve coffee brewer. The new simplehuman brewer features a 42 oz. water tank, brews 5 oz or 8 oz cups of coffee, and fits all standard-size pods (we're thinking 62 mm - Senseo sized pods). The simplehuman single cup pod brewer also comes with two pod holders - one for coffee and one for tea. The brewer is priced at $129.99 and FREE shipping is included.

simplehuman has also partnered with Molto coffee to create a new line of coffee and tea pods. Each pod comes individually wrapped to preserve the coffee freshness. Coffee and Tea pods are packed in a sleeve box and priced at $5.99 for 14 pods.

The following coffees and teas are available now:

  • Costa Rican French Roast (dark)
  • Sumatra Mandheling (medium)
  • Breakfast Blend (light)
  • French Vanilla (flavored)
  • Decaf Columbian Earl Grey (tea)

If the quality of their other kitchen items is any indication, we're pretty confident simplehuman should get it right. We've reviewed several of their kitchen products and have found them all to be very well designed and of high quality.

Ready! Set! Joe!

B000Af787S.01. Sclzzzzzzz

For those on the go - get Joe! This super cool purple coffee wonder from Melitta can make great coffee if you know the patented Melitta hot water over grounds pour.

For clean, clear, flavorful brew in about 4 minutes, the manual drip can't be beat. Near-boiling water is poured in a circular motion over grounds in a cone style filter-this creates turbulence, evenly soaking and distributing the grounds. Coffee then drips through a paper filter that traps sediment and oils.
