Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set

41HHVjP-XWL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

We love a good poached egg, and this skillet will make 5 at a time. The skillet measures 10 inches/25.5cm diameter and features a stay cool handle. The set includes 5 removable egg poacher cups and a tempered glass vented lid, and the entire skillet is made of stainless steel. If you've never used a skillet egg poacher then you're in for a treat. This makes poaching eggs so simple, and you can also make a bunch for a brunch instead of 1-2 at a time in other poachers.

BeepEgg Makes Hard and Soft Boiled Eggs Perfect

p2297_main.jpg

BeepEgg is a bit of a different egg timer because it plays tunes while bobbing in the hot boiling water to indicate the different hardness or softness of the eggs cooking. Also when the water is at full boil, BeepEgg will tell you how hard or soft the eggs are with tunes. So it's more than just a egg timer - it's an egg friend that can also whistle a tune. You can also store BeepEgg right alongside your normal eggs in the refrigerator because BeepEgg is the size of a normal egg. Expect BeepEgg to last at least 18 months of egg boiling before a replace.

Egg Piercer Prevents Cracked Boiled Eggs

surlatable_egg_piercer.jpg

If you make boiled but hate the cracks after the boiling is done you're going to need an egg piercer. This stainless-steel piercer safely puts a pinhole in the bottom of the shell - you'll want to use the wide end. This pinhole helps to prevent cracking when boiling the egg. After you make a bunch you may want to get this pretty amazing egg slicer to as well.

Egg poaching can be very easy if you have the gear to get it done, and done right. This set of 2 green flexible silicone pods for poaching eggs, baking and molding does it right. The poach pods allow you to float and poach an egg in boiling water like a lily pad on a pond. To release the egg you flip the nonstick pod inside out when egg is ready and gently push out.

Making Eggs Singapore Style

Ottoegg

You know we love to cover all things eggs. We found this amazing write up at Popgadget on eating eggs in Singapore and Malaysia. We had no idea that coconut milk and eggs would mix so well together on toast and there would be even more kitchen contraptions to cook eggs there.

The traditional breakfast in Singapore and Malaysia is toast slathered with kaya (a jam made from coconut milk and eggs, and scented with pandan leaves) and butter, a couple of soft-boiled eggs lightly drizzled with soya sauce, and hot coffee (condensed milk optional). It was only when I tried to prepare this myself that I realised just how tricky making the perfect soft-boiled egg was. Delia Smith notwithstanding, I find making soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs an inexact science. Fortunately for those of us who aren’t domestic goddesses, there are gadgets to help.

Make Egg McMuffins at Home

We finally got to see one of these beauties in person and have to say - WE WANT ONE BADLY. The Back to Basics egg cooker and toaster will have a homemade egg McMuffin on your plate in under 5 minutes.

The unit can be used solely as a full functioning toaster, or it can simultaneously toast bread, poach or steam-scramble an egg, and warm a pre-cooked slice of meat--or any combination of these three functions--to make the ultimate breakfast sandwich at home in just four minutes.

Get Pressing! Bacon Press & Pancake Rings

What's not to love about a bacon press and pancake rings? We often want our bacon flat and our pancakes round but we also love to have out eggs come out round for a nice homemade egg mc muffin. This heavy-duty 3-piece set includes a cast-iron bacon press and two chromed-steel rings. The 6 ¾" x 4", heavy-weight press keeps bacon strips from curling as they cook, while the two 4" diameter rings create perfectly round fried eggs and pancakes.
