Pickle Picker

p41537b.jpg

Here is a gadget you didn't know you needed. It is true that getting pickles out of a jar can be difficult, but I'm not sure it warrants its own device. The pickle picker has retractable wire tongs designed to grip the pickle and eliminate pick juice mess.

Cooks' Cutting Guard

My husband is always sure I'm going to chop off my fingers when I'm cutting things, so he would be happy if I got this. The edge of the curved shield holds food in place and the adjustable ring fits most hands.

Remote Meat Thermometer

This could be really handy if you are grilling in the winter--you don't have to keep going outside to check the temperature of your food. It can also be used in the oven. You program the thermometer for the type of meat and doneness level and stick in the probe. The wire from the probe is attached to a monitor. The pager will alert you when the meat reaches its doneness level. This remote meat thermometer allows you to monitor two types of meat at two different doneness levels.
