We've been using these "Squishy Bowls" from GuyotDesigns over the past few weeks for prep and espresso shot holders, and have to say they work great. Designed with backpacking in mind, the bowls are both squish-able and made out of heat resistant silicone. Even after much squishing these bowls retain their shape, and are perfect for hot and cold foods especially with our kids. You can hand wash these with soap and water, and we've also put them into the dishwasher with great results.
The bowls come in the following sizes:
- Large bowl: 16 oz. (500ml) capacity, 3.3 oz (93g) weight
- Medium bowl: 14 oz. (420ml) capacity, 2.6 oz. (67g) weight
- Cup: 6 oz. (200ml) capacity, 1.7 oz. (48g) weight
- Travel shot: 1.5 oz. (44ml) capacity, 0.5 oz. (23g) weight

This silicone finger-guard is flexible and heat-resistant (up to 600ºF), and in the shape of that famous fortune teller paper thing you used on the playground as a kid. For me, it was always the girls rifting off a fortune, until my friends and I used them in our Dungeons and Dragons games. Now that I'm a bit older, I can see cooking with these and entertaining the kids.

Marc Newson is a pretty tasteful designer, and we love the look of this sleek Dom Pérignon Champagne Cooler. The holder is crafted in solid aluminum. Expect this to run you about $1000 to keep your Dom cold and crisp.

If you want your food to remain hot for more than two minutes, Rosalin Chanyasak has designed this prototype called "The Fête Serving Plate". It uses thermoelectric technology to maintain either hot or cold temperatures, and is made of polycarbonate. LED icons show the ingredient list for alergy info - which is pretty high end. Let's hope these come to market in the near future.

It's summer, and it's time for a little sangria fun. We often mix up a pitcher or two or three over a nice hot summer night, and we like to drink them in style. This 7 piece set from Libbey includes one 76 ounce pitcher and 6 10.5 ounce footed poco grande glasses. If sangria is not your thing, it's perfect for piña coladas, ice tea, or even boring old water.

Designed by Élan Falvai, the ceramic bowl is microwaveable and dishwasher safe, and it has a spoon rest that will eliminate sunken spoonage. The designer wanted to make them both multifunctional and stackable, and we think the mark has been hit. Best of all the stainless steel spoon is included with the bowl.
